AUTUMN LEAVES RUN – 14th October 2012

AUTUMN LEAVES RUN – 14th October 2012

As the winter approaches this is a good chance to get the bikes out before the road salt is applied.  Due to the “summer” we’ve had the autumn leaves had hung on well but not yet turned colour.  The run started at the farm shop near Bishops Sutton, by the Chew Valley lakes where we enjoyed a coffee before setting off to explore the Mendips towards Bath.

Weather conditions were good and road conditions variable!  Where tractors had been hauling trailers from fields along the lanes there were some impromtu trials sections along the way.  Percy’s Ariel Square Four found the hidden crater under one of these “sections” and create quite a splash – luckily no damage done this time.  I’m sure that when Colin sets these routes he’s out looking for trials sections or practicing for the Lands End Trial!

Back at the farm shop we all enjoyed a socialble lunch and chat, before going home to wash the mud off the bikes.  Well done Colin, a grand day out in the hills.
