Sunday October 27th, 10:30 at Hillier Garden Centre, Cheddar

From the Garden Centre, a demanding climb up past the Gliding Club into the Mendips and a scenic run across the top via Charterhouse and down into Chew Valley at Blagdon. Across Blagdon Lake dam (the first!), up and down and along the lanes on the north side of the valley to come back around Chew Valley Lake (and across our second dam) before climbing back up into the Mendips for a fast ride to (and down) Burrington Combe. Then still a quick road to Churchill and briefly south up the A38 before turning off for a narrow, scenic lane across Rowberrow to Shipham. And from there the fast descent back to Cheddar, to finish back at the Garden Centre.

A very good turnout (33 machines and 38 people signed on) and excellent weather, although the recent rain made some sections challenging enough for a BM to get a ‘slow drop’ and the some of the Valley lanes caused a couple of ‘navigation errors’.

An extremely enjoyable outing, we should maybe make a new ‘Two Dams Run’!
